How do you remove glued Bali hair extensions?

How do you remove glued Bali hair extensions?
I got 'human' hair extensions glued in in Bali. The lady in the salon didnt speak much english but she said to use hot oil.
Im not sure how that would work or if it would.
My friend also got some a few months before and just pulled them out... I dont really want to do that.
Also I have big mats (big knots) in my hair from them. Any good ideas on how to get them out?
