Pendleton (left) and Varnish finished second in the previous round in Melbourne

Team sprinters Victoria Pendleton and Jess Varnish took gold at the World Cup second round in Cali, Columbia.
The British pair, who were second to China in the first round in Melbourne on 3 December, overcame Germans Miriam Welte and Kristina Vogel in the final.
But Sir Chris Hoy, Matt Crampton and Jason Kenny, winners in Melbourne, only managed silver in the men's sprint.
Both teams lead the overall standings with the men four points clear and the women five points ahead of the field.
The final two rounds of the World Cup take place in the Chinese capital Beijing on 21 January and in Manchester on 18 February.

With the Chinese team who had beaten them in the series opening event well off the pace, Varnish and Pendleton improved on their time from Australia to cross the line in 33.322 seconds.
The victory earned them a maximum 12 points with Germany second and the French pair of Sandie Clair and Virginie Cueff third.
Hoy, Crampton and Kenny were overhauled by the experienced French trio of Gregory Bauge, Kevin Sireau and Michael D'Almeida.
New Zealand's team, who came second in Melbourne, were third and are the closest contenders to Great Britain in the rankings at the halfway point in the series.
Britain's Katie Colclough, Wendy Houvenaghel and Laura Trott came third in the women's team pursuit in their first World Cup outing of the year after missing the Melbourne event.
Ed Clancy made a solid start to the men's omnium event and is second after three disciplines with three points separating him from Spanish leader Juan Estaban Arango Carvajal.
The event concludes on Saturday.
Great Britain traditionally use the three World Cup stages outside the UK each year to blood younger riders, but this year have sent a strong squad to each event as the riders chase qualification for London 2012.
Men's team sprint standings after two events:
1. Great Britain 22 points
2. New Zealand 18
3. France 12
4. Germany 9
5. Team Jayco (Australia) 8
Women's team sprint standings:
1. Great Britain 22 points
2. China 17
3. Germany 16
4. France 16
5. Spain 10
