How do the liver and pancreas function in the digestive system?

The liver produces bile which is a greenish yellow liquid (it is stored in the gall bladder and secreted directly into the duodenum when food reaches that point). The pancreas secretes a mixture of carbohydrate, lipid, and protein digesting enzymes into the duodenum. This 'pancreatic juice' is alkaline and, along with bile, neutralizes the acidic chyme coming from the stomach.
